Support Watford Workshop

We are proud to have been providing employment, work experience and independent life skills training to adults with disabilities for over 50 years. We could not have done this without the support of our Donors, Grant Funders and Corporate partners.

Donate

Your donation could help give adults with disabilities a safe and secure environment to gain Work Experience, Supported Employment and receive Independent Life Skills training.

Donating to our charity will help change a life.

We encourage all our donors to visit the Workshop to meet the people their donations will support and to see the difference it can make. By making a monthly or one-off donation, you can help us to provide the vital support that adults with disabilities so desperately need.

Disability Facts and Figures

87% of young people with a learning disability want a job and sustainable career

46.3% of working age adults with a disability are in employment

5.7% of adults with learning disabilities known to Social Care are in employment

Leaving full time education is difficult and even more challenging for a young adult with a disability. Your donation can make a difference by giving a chance to experience the world of work.

Watford Workshop gives more than 20 Special Education Needs students every week this opportunity.

By sponsoring supported employment, this gives work and provides the skills needed to transition into mainstream employment. For those unable to move on, this funds their workplace for as long as they need us.

We provide around 50 long term workplaces each year.

Your donation to our charity could fund essential life skills training to help our people live as independently as possible. From reading and writing, cooking and laundry, all delivered by our qualified tutors.

Our many courses are tailored to the individual needs of our people.

Help an adult with a disability like Megan

Aged seven, Megan suffered a life changing accident which left her with physical and learning difficulties. On leaving full time education she spent several years at home as no one would give her a job.

Watford Workshop gave Megan a chance when no one else would. By providing supported employment and training, Megan is now thriving as our Fundraising Co-ordinator and giving key note speeches on her journey to the Workshop and how we have changed her life.

Contact us if you would like Megan to speak at your event or workplace.
